Makers who love to teach

Brittany 2.jpg

Owner/ Sewing Instructor

Brittany Karbonik

Store Owner/ Head Sewing Instructor. Brittany started sewing at the young age of ten. Her love of costumes and making something out of nothing is what always kept this love of sewing within her heart. As she grew up, her love of sewing, learning and teaching her art grew more. Having her costumes being loved by so many customers taught her to truly believe in herself. Her students solidified the notion (yes pun indented) that anyone can achieve anything they believe they can as long as you try!

Crochet Instructor

Sarah Stelmack

Sarah started her crochet journey at the age of six with a very lumpy scarf for her Build-A-Bear. Having honed her skills over 20 years of crocheting for family and friends, her scarves have gotten significantly better and have been joined by afghans, sweaters, and tons of Amigurumi. Her personal favourites to make include Studio Ghibli characters, Harry Potter critters, and dragons. When she’s not crocheting,Sarah enjoys singing opera, watching Disney movies, exploring the outdoors with her amazing partner, and cuddling with her two kitty cats – the best crafting buddies anyone could ask for, even if they do try to chew on her yarn!

Special Guest Sewing Instructor

Kelly Probetts

As a supporter of small shops and a lover of handmade items, Kelly scoured numerous sources for fun, princess-themed outfits for her daughter's 3rd Birthday Party. Unfortunately, aside from the department store options that didn't align with her vision, she found limited choices within the Canadian small shop community. So, she decided to create something herself—filled with sprinkles, tulle, and sparkles! After receiving countless compliments on the and inquiries like "Where did you get that?" and "Could you make for me too?", Tulle + Tiny was born. With over 16 of experience in the Bridal, Prom, and Formalwear industry, Kelly is dedicated to making children feel confident, beautiful, and special within every stitch.

Cat Being Cozy

Knitting/ Weaving Instructor

Heather Zueff

Heather first learned to knit from her grandmother, but as they lived in different locations, ultimately lost the knowledge between visits. She struggled for years trying to learn again after her Amma passed away, it wasn't until living abroad for university that she found someone who knit "the same way" her Icelandic grandmother did, and was finally able to pick it back up.

Knitting was the gateway craft that lead her to exploring all things fibre. Along with knitting, Heather crochets, spins, weaves and sews. Knitting lace shawls is her first love and what she reaches for when feeling the need to destress from school or work.
