Alexis Dufault is a Winnipeg-based multidisciplinary artist. Alexis creates vibrant and whimsical paintings, traditional and digital illustrations, linocut prints, and stationery. She draws inspiration from her many creative hobbies, small everyday moments, and above all, colour. What Alexis loves most about creating visual art is storytelling. She enjoys crafting pieces with a strong visual narrative or leaving their stories more ambiguous for viewers to find their own meaning and beauty. Alexis enjoys using different media and motifs to express herself creatively, taking advantage of each medium's unique qualities. Oil paints are excellent for blending, coloured pencils are great for rendering fine details, and digital art allows her to create while on the go. Her paintings and traditional illustrations are bright and colourful, while her linocut prints and digital pieces tend to be moodier and cozier. Her work aims to spark joy and evoke a sense of hygge by capturing the beauty of everyday moments and creating a sense of magic.
