iBelieveInDragons
iBelieveinDragons (Sarah)'s My mom taught her to crochet when I was six years old. She still remembers the scratchiness of the variegated cotton yarn she used to make her first project: a lumpy, too-short scarf for her Build-A-Bear Kim (named after Kim Possible, naturally). Being an eager little kid, once the scarf was finished, she was desperate to move on to other projects, and before she knew it, she was crocheting anything and everything that wandered into her head.
Then one day, she was asked to crochet a plush Totoro. The look of joy it brought inspired her to focus on Amigurumi characters, and to eventually start selling creations as iBelieveInDragons.
In the Make It Sew shop, you’ll find hand-crocheted recognizable characters and also nameless critters like gnomes, axolotls and dragons which Sarah hopes encourage people to imagine their own characters. Each creation is lovingly made from acrylic yarn with fiberfill stuffing. Details are crafted using a variety of materials including hand-cut felt and embroidery thread.
Characters are selected and re-created regularly from Sarah's ever-growing catalogue of past projects; it’s always a bit of a surprise who you’ll find in stock! But don’t worry, she assures us that eventually everyone will get another turn!
