Modern Heirloom Market Bag Workshop 4:30
Crafted from the past, carried into the present
Available spots
Description
Transform a thrifted quilt into a modern heirloom you can carry. In this hands-on workshop, students will thoughtfully upcycle vintage and secondhand quilts into beautiful, functional market bags designed for everyday use. Participants will be guided step-by-step through measuring and cutting their quilt, pinning and working with the provided paper pattern, and strategically using the quilted edge for a polished, professional finish. Students will also learn how to neatly enclose raw edges with bias tape for both durability and refined detail. Throughout the workshop, students will build confidence using sewing machines, including how to sew smooth curves — an essential skill in bag construction. Beginners are warmly welcome. Our patient, supportive instructors ensure that every participant feels comfortable and capable. Leave with a stylish, sustainable market bag and the skills to transform secondhand textiles into contemporary pieces with lasting character.
